HAIR SCIENCE AND BIOLOGY
Hair basics
The hair consists of several layers, the most important for us is the outermost: the cuticle!
This can provide our hair with nutrients, or not - but how does it work?
The hair cuticle can open when exposed to heat. Open scales allow us to supply our hair with oils, masks and other nutrients. BUT TOO MUCH HEAT IS DAMAGING!
If this cuticle layer closes again, the hair can firstly utilize these nutrients and secondly our hair then shines as we have a "straight surface".
The blood vessels that promote hair growth are located directly under the hair root. Healthy blood flow to the scalp gives the hair the strength to grow. This can be strengthened by daily massages, for example.
Do not doubt the loss of hair - it's normal!
Our hair has a very natural cycle.
Hair falls out and grows back. It is genetically determined how thick your hair is and how fast it falls out and grows.
Still unsure about the health of your hair?
This test shows you where your hair stands!
(See picture below)
Is your hair healthy?
The simplest test for this is the water glass test.
Take untreated hair (i.e. without oils, masks, straightening, ...) and place it in a glass of lukewarm water.
REMEMBER: THE CUTICLE IS THE LAYER OF THE HAIR THAT KEEPS THE HAIR HEALTHY!
If the hair is completely lost, the cuticles are damaged. If your hair is submerged, it can still be saved! If your hair floats, the cuticle layer is sealed and your hair is healthy
